And thus why I pointed out that I am the only poster here who respects and promotes democratic norms and values.
What you want is a political system that reflects your values, and your values alone. Those who don't have sufficient merit or intelligence, according to your standards, should not be represented, and they are not equals when it comes to public policy. I find most people are at this point these days - they are more desirable of meritocratic authoritarianism than they are a healthy republic.

It takes quite a bit of cognitive dissonance to argue that you support democratic norms and values and then, within the same paragraph, say that views you disagree with shouldn't be allowed to influence civil rights or the law.
The last time I checked, legitimate political authority is derived from the people and their enfranchisement - not some people, not only the smart and qualified people, but all people. By rejecting this you have rejected the entire basis of modern democratic norms. There really isn't much more that needs to be said.
