It takes quite a bit of cognitive dissonance to argue that you support democratic norms and values and then, within the same paragraph, say that views you disagree with shouldn't be allowed to influence civil rights or the law.
The last time I checked, legitimate political authority is derived from the people and their enfranchisement - not some people, not only the smart and qualified people, but all people. By rejecting this you have rejected the entire basis of modern democratic norms. There really isn't much more that needs to be said.
