If you think it is ok to say this now, just remember that there will be another Democrat president in the office at some point in the near future. I respect your effort uber, but the Trump diehards are not going to be convinced by words. They're either going to realize it over time from their own observations or keep their heads stuck in the sand. We can't do anything to change their minds if they're still on board at this point.

I actually don't think it's entirely the letter next to his name this time. I think a lot of people are true believers. I monitor a lot of conservative outlets, and there is a not insignificant number of people saying he was sent by God to save America. This sentiment is rampant even among non-religious people as well. There's this idea that Trump is here to save America and will be a revolutionary leader and is uniquely situated to solve what they've been told are America's ills.

This is faith. Faith isn't based on reason or logic. Even seeing the results (assuming he fails, which seems likely) can't necessarily rattle faith. That's why it's likely that spacemonkey, jimmyz, southern dad, and the other trump supporters will not change their opinion of the situation. That would be sacrilegious to the emperor-god.

Think of all the leaders you know. Leaders at work, leaders in sports, politics, war. How many of them could be described as "cheeky and fun" and how many could be described as "cruel and tragic"

Trumps speech was just an hour of him going down a list of anything and everything related to government and laying out a one sentence plan to f**k the democrats as much as possible. Still incredible how bad of a defeat this is. And unlike even some of the worst political defeats, I think everyone feels this will bend the long arc of history. I simply cannot support such losers ever again. It's like in sports, losing is one thing, but to not even try? In a game this important? Reptiles are idiots but they put in the effort.
