as said in the other thread i find it to have been a massive blunder. a horrible blunder. and the antagonism by russia -- the crimea, "ukranian" "rebels" and the like -- i lay at obama's feet. i don't think it mattered that much for Syria, other than russia started helping them but making empty threats is going to invite provocations from others.

i suspect the stuff with Bannon being ejected had everything to do with this. as soon as a military thing actually came up, he was kicked off the security council. since the security council is said to have been unanimous, i wonder if Bannon was in there saying Syrians should get f**k and that was the end of it: such issues are not about politics, gtfo
