It's not ideology at all man. If it were they'd be doing repeal and replace later - this is a hodgepodge of political bullshit to serve as talking points for their midterms. They're keeping pre-existing, reducing medicaid dramatically, offering subsidies, etc. This is as far away from ideology as they get - that's why Rand Paul was straight up "No."
And no, the bill isn't dead or anything. I just thought that the insurers coming out against it like that was particularly alarming. They know that what's being pressed will result in broken markets reminiscent of pre-Obamacare.
