I don't like gillibrand very much and Jamal's Harris is the new flavor of the month.

I don't know much about either of these senators, yeah I've heard the names but that's about it. On the surface I see them appealing to the liberal elite but falling short with blue collar/midwestern democrats... so in other words the democrats don't appear to have learned anything from the last election.

Jason Kander showed some promise, that AR15 ad was amazing and had extremely broad appeal. I think he was tied into Hillary's campaign, which is unfortunate, but overall I could see candidates like him doing pretty well if they stick to a firm middle class focus on jobs and economy. Avoid identity politics and other divisive social issues like the plague, or at least don't blow political capital on them.

100% on the Democrats not learning anything. They just don't understand politics or marketing. It is sad because historically I'd say the most exceptional Democratic Presidents were masters of those very things. Clinton, Obama, Kennedy, FDR... These were guys who knew how to work the media and control the message.
