15% of the people in harris county have flood insurance. i'll help build them multi-family homes for these people, but i will not bail them out of all that they lost when they had no insurance. that is their loss from their own risky behavior

There have been many opportunities lost in the flood control. The example that NAB sourced shows that even the known infrastructure would lead to destruction. ... and it did. There are others that can be sourced such as the resistance from consyruction of the medical complex that was known to changing the water she'd before the ground broke, the flood control projects that never even get started in Friendswood and Missouri city, and so on.

Like i said before, the progress made since the last flood definitely improved the outcome of the current disaster. As many of you already know I'm the last person to give praise to government for anything, and I believe we have Austin and Abbott to thank.

here's the question -- will miami survive a direct hit from irma? it's looking like cat 4 for miami landfall, and another landfall on savannah at cat 3. probably will be the worst year for hurricanes ever and we really need to reassess how to prepare and deal with them going forward
