Yeah...digging through all these reports, trying to find something out about the guy...basically paints a picture of the most boring guy imaginable. No record. No warning signs. Retired accountant. Living in 55+ community. Etc. Apparently, he liked to play high stakes poker...maybe he's got gambling debts. Really irritating to trying to find any sort of rationale for any of this...

Of course it's satire.

So much of this is about language. I'm reading articles right now about the shooter's "machine guns" because these journalists simply don't have the foggiest idea what they're talking about, as usual. Bump fire is something they are reading about on wikipedia at this very moment and desperately trying to even comprehend. The usual suspects (including Clinton) are already piling on talking bans and such. Even using that word completely shuts down the entire conversation before anything else can even be said, as you say.

It's just that compromise along with moderation or centrism are ideas that seem to trigger a lot of unrealistic ideologues from either side.

Was referring to newtown. Regardless point stands - nothing will be done. NRA will come out against anything. Ads are more and more radical. Base will revolt if GOP proposes the slightest thing and the NRA tries to capitalize off of it. Anti-establishment figures would eat that shit up. Can't wait to see how the new GOP primaries go moving forward.
