Well, that's good, I was just hoping for an explanation of deeming a humorous response to a humorous tweet "deranged." Straight up, it is always weird to wish yourself a happy birthday even if it is somebody else writing your posts. It actually really highlights how uncomfortable traditional politicians are with social media and the importance of making these accounts personal. That is one thing that I like about Trump - he writes his own tweets, he is just a moron.
In any case, I typically suggest that when highlighting something about yourself on social media, it is gonna come off best if you frame it as a response to others. Like maybe say something like "Thank you all for the birthday wishes. Signed, your future President." This is just a funny and awkward way of doing it.
On another note, I liked how Obama signed off with his initials when he wrote the post himself. Lets you avoid stuff like this because everyone knew when it was a staffer or the President himself.
