I really don't like the "double-dipping" of public unions, as Saz puts it. Public unions blow, but since the rich have been waging unceasing class warfare for forty years, they are a necessary evil and one of the main institutions preventing the total destruction of the middle class.
It is extremely short-sighted to support anti-union activities, particularly since most of the criticism thrown at unions is ideological horseshit concocted by the rich to make everyone else look down on themselves. "Unions destroyed the auto industry." lol, no, the corporations destroyed the industry by putting out abject garbage for years, refusing to innovate, and spending all their time rent-seeking instead of improving their products. The unions and the taxpayers bent over backwards to keep this from happening, but corporate made one disastrous decision after another, and got absolutely crushed by corporations who actually listened to their employees and made massive improvements to quality as a result (see Japanese automakers).
All that said, Musk is a God and is not obliged to play by the same rules as us mere mortals. Even I will forgive a bit of union busting if it means getting to Mars.
