You guys have been overly hopeful for a while. I remember noting in the last couple of shootings that they did nothing when 20 elementary students were gunned down. Think about that for a second...not even that is the bar. Not even 50 people being gunned down in Vegas.

That's the police chiefs association of America coming out in favor of universal background checks. They call it a "no brainer."

Instead they blame the local authorities and the FBI. Classic Trump move.

Local authorities absolutely should have blame associated with them. I can't believe the shame hasn't caused the sheriff to resign already. And the policies at the FBI should be reviewed but I'm not sure that they are as blameworthy. But the local authorities? A catastrophic failure. However. Do they have the tools they need to deal with it? Could they have taken the guns from him? I'm not sure. But they should have the tools to deal with it.
