Or Mueller gets fired.

The way this could f**k the Dems over is because they've had a year and a half since losing to Trump to find a voice and an identity -- something they neglected to do in 2016 -- but they've continued to fail miserably at that so their defacto identity is now bestowed upon them courtesy of the hysterical sensationalists at CNN and MSNBC. The identity and message is therefore that Trump's illegal activities with Russia is of the utmost importance and must be dealt with. But if the Mueller investigation ends anticlimactically as Spider is predicting, then the Democrats are left with no identity again. I would still expect them to do well in the midterm, but it's disturbing that they remain such a rudderless party in these....interesting....times.
