Russia has shuttered the Санкт-Петерсбург US consulate and expelled 60 diplomats for activities "incompatible with diplomatic status". at some point real measures are going to have to come to bear on russia that they cannot just say "nyet, u did it" and then just copy whatever move was done against them

Like you said - it's a rogue state. Unfortunately I think the only response Russia would take notice at would be a unified Western response that has more of a bite than the barks we've seen so far. Trump hasn't exactly been a uniter among the Western states so as long as that continues I just don't see Russia backing down.

I'm happy with Trump finally condemning Putin re Syria and Assad. It does make you wonder why it's happening now though...

Either way - all it took was the continued use of chemical weapons in Syria after Trump said he wanted out. Timetable...timetable...where have I heard something regarding timetables before....shit I just can't remember...

Trump has a lot of business ties with Russians and other people linked to the Kremlin. There’s no other explanation.

I think he had tried to get a Trump tower in Russia right as he was either running or accepted the nomination.
