slaves, by definition, don't get wages
people seem to think 'fair' means 'just' with whatever definition that they think that means. but 'fair' means 'legitimate' or 'without cheating'. the only way to fairly judge it as fair is if both parties agree to it and if that is being met. if the answer is yes, then it is fair. if the answer is no -- there is cheating involved -- then it is not fair

Well. The slaves can just refuse to work, and be tortured or killed. Or revolt and be killed. It's easy to split hairs here. But as I said, "agreeing" to something is a bullshit idea when there are no other acceptable choices. We've been living under worker protection regs and minimum wages and social safety nets for too long. We've forgotten how bad it can get. Upton Sinclair, rolling in grave.

Greed in a finite world will not end well. We've advanced enough technically that finite is starting to become a factor in our affairs. Hope we can figure it out for the positive. Accommodation of greed will be tough to figure out. Prosperity and greed are not the same.
