Am I the only one a bit suspicious of the fact that two or three days ago Trump apparently stated he wanted out of Syria but withheld after his advisors claimed we stay.
Not going conspiracy theory here or anything it’s just obviously......convenient timing.

Could be the gas attack was staged to delay our departure. Either way, the AWACS (airborne radar aircraft) already know where the attack came from.

with russia in charge of removing chemical weapons it's clear they failed. not that it wasn't a charade from the beginning
while it plays into Putin's hand about being besieged by the west i don't think he can continue to actually be besieged. hundreds of russians have been slaughtered by American troops when they attacked an american position. when this time it will be russian pilots in russian MiGs at syrian airbases? how many loses can Putin handle? yeah, it's a proxy war, but Russia is not going to win this. if America joins -- which I'm sure it will -- with the British and French for a new triple entente to go kick syria's ass and by extension Russia, what could Russia do? it's all roar back there. i mean, it COULD destroy humanity, yeah, but would it? that's all it has. offensive action against any of those three countries would trigger Article 5, and they'd all be more than willing to vote YES on that action at this point. RUSSIA is the enemy here. syria is a sideshow and we all know it. it's very interesting with a russophile in the white house, but i think that can radically change overnight.

Yeah we'll see in 48 hours max. With Pompeo and Bolton in there it's a little difficult accepting that they'll bow to Trump's overtures re Syria/Iran/Russia.
It's odd that Trump has been so vocal re Iran too...since they're tied to Russia as well. He's been pretty concilliatory towards Russia re everything else (not with policy - just with what he actually says).
