While I cannot remember a thread here not being diverted into a myriad of unrelated tangents, if you think that the Mueller investigation has ever been derailed then you're just not paying attention. It's in the news literally every single day. On Wednesday Trump was asked whether he planned to fire Special Counsel Robert Mueller while he was again at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, this time hanging out with Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe. Yesterday it was reported that his comments came as Iowa Republican Chuck Grassley, the chair of the Judiciary Committee, assured that he was moving ahead with hearings on bipartisan legislation that would protect Special Counsel Mueller, while the turkey necked, turtle headed shitbird Mitch McConnell said that he will not bring the measure to vote in the full senate.
All of this horseshit about the Russian investigation, while serious and necessary, and Trump's clearly frightened obsession with it, is itself a distraction from all of the major substantive policies being undertaken behind the scenes of Trump's constant nearly hourly shenanigans. It's almost by design: let the dildo Trump and his constant depredations on Twitter and irl keep the media and the public distracted while the vicious wrecking crew, McConnell, Paul Ryan, etc., makes moves behind the scenes to dismantle everything that is beneficial to ordinary human beings while enriching their corporate paymasters.
