To assess whether the Trump administration will succeed in long-term peaceful negotiations with North Korea requires more than what has so far happened. Trump's initiation of a trade war with China is idiotic for a myriad of reasons, but there's no reason whatsoever to presume that China is going to torpedo diplomatic negotiations towards a peaceful resolution with North Korea as the "double freeze" is precisely what China has been advocating for years.
