Why wouldn't dems court pack? Schumer can decide it's a new custom that if a party exercises the McConnell Rule the next time power changes hands the part on which the Mcconnell rule was exercised may add two more justices to restore balance.

I'm for packing the courts, but then we have to also take further measures to ensure the Republicans don't get back in power for at least a couple generation or two. Law experts help me out: I know state supreme courts can rule on the legality of congressional redistricting maps. Can it be taken the federal route and be ruled on by the SCOTUS instead? Gotta fix the gerrymandering of the House.

Then, we gotta start handing out some of that free shit that Bernie was always going on about. Don't forget that it was only 2 years after the disastrous Bush Administration ended in an economic meltdown that people decided the Republicans deserve another shot at power. Obama was offering us hope and change but then he took office and let everyone just wither on the vine during the worst part of the recession. Abysmal Dem base turnout in 2010, GOP routed Congress. Poor people don't feel very connected to much that goes on in politics. f**k give them free shit that the GOP will take away if they get back in power and the poors will make time for the voting booth.

Court packing is a disaster on two fronts

1. The only president to serve more than 2 terms almost lost his job over the suggestion; it will be like how every fourth of July there are several Americans who don't know it's the last day they will have all of their limbs. This is what I see happening to a party that attempts such a scheme

2. Even if it was successful the success is short lived and the minority party will become the majority again a screw you over two fold


The real way to do it is to do as I suggested earlier. Have term limits. Now there is no one upmanship, but if the people think you worthy of power, you'll have steady influence on the court

Honestly SCOTUS is broken anyway. We can just safely assume that anyone appointed by a Republican will vote with the court's conservative block on all the big issues and the opposite for justices appointed by a Democrat. It's completely partisan.
