I've already explicitly pointed out that I didn't argue about any historical residues of the colonists being causal in the sexual assaults of the Catholic priests. Your repetition of the fallacious claim now appears to be willful ignorance in the attempt to either avoid the actual point being made by blowing smoke with straw-men fallacies or you're simply trolling.

No doubt the Church of England ruled in the 17th century. Interestingly enough the Church, under the Archbishop of York, Tobias Matthew, equally purged puritans (indisputably protestants) and supporters of a return to Catholicism.

The Chinese Exclusion Act had to do with the nativists, as I accurately observed. I said f**k about the puritans in relation to the nativists. What I said, correctly, is that the nativists also held to a virulent animosity towards Catholics. You tried to argue that I didn't know there were protestant extremists who hated Catholics. I not only already knew this, but, as I stated, gave a presentation on a subject in which I stated the fact.

I've read about the issue and it is indeed a global problem. In fact, precisely this point is made in Hitchens' opening arguments in the video I posted in my first post here. Do yourself a favor and watch it.

I observed first that a large segment of the Catholic church functions as a criminal organization and second that the United States is unique to first world industrialized states in its deference to theocratic fascist elements which have been present on the continent since before the United States itself.

I understand that you don’t want to address the broader social context because, perhaps, you do not have the knowledge to do so. You may repeat your fallacious charges ad infinitum all you want, but they do not actually address the substantive point. That's another prominent example of the historical residues of theocratic fascism and, as anyone educated knows, the sexist hierarchical structure of the Catholic church and its ancient practice of male supremacy and the subordination and degradation of women.

I’ve already addressed 1 and 2 twice. I also already addressed 3, 4, and 8 in the post you’re pretending to respond to by again repeating your fallacious points that I’ve already addressed. 7 is a point you brought up in relation to 1, 2, 3, and 4. The Trump administration and the “alt-right” movement and violence, 5, 6, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, are to do with 3, 4, and 8, as is obvious to any literate and serious reader.

14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, and 21 is but only the incomplete analysis of a specific issue by isolating it from the social context within which it exists and pretending to address it as though it occurred within a vacuum.

As the Catholic church is a global church and its crimes have occurred in nearly every state on the globe within which it functions, the problems internal to the Catholic church are not unique to any one state. Again, this is precisely the point Hitchens argued in the video I posted in my first post on the first page that you feel the need to ignore in order to pretend that your fallacious charges are anything but.

It's not a broader context, hurf, it's irrelevancy. This is a problem with the administration of a religious organization based in Italy that has been doing awful shit for a couple thousand years. It's not an excuse to cry about some relative upstart country in North America.

It's a bit self-important to make every single thing that happens ever about the US. This has been going on multiple times longer than the US has even existed. It's just that now people are apparently more willing to talk about it.

Of course it has a broader context. One may prefer to ignore the broader context, but that doesn't erase it. It's perfectly fine to set aside the broader context, but to claim that the citing of it is to excuse the "awful shit" is absolutely ludicrous. Ironic that you argue that it's "not a broader context" and go on to assert that it's the administrative problem of a "religious organization based in Italy that has been doing awful shit for a couple thousand years."

The specific issue brought up is to do with Pennsylvania, i.e. the United States. It has to do with, as you recognize, a Catholic church which has been operating for a couple millenniums across the entire globe. That's as broader a context as it can get. Either there's a vacuum or there's a broader context. You can't have it both ways.

Again. The Catholic church isn't from PA. This problem is global, and is the responsibility of those who actually run the thing. Maybe they can find a few American higher-ups within the PA church to toss onto swords, but the fact is the Vatican needs to nut up and do something real.
