it was designed that way but we haven't used it that way in a long time. the electoral college itself is all elected. and the people of each state can determine how to assign their electoral votes. a few states divvy up their electoral votes but most do not. that's on the voters. it's all on the voters.

It doesn't matter that it's elected...the number of votes and how they're cast is a given. The will of the voter isn't a cousin once removed. One man, one vote, no multiple steps of intermediaries.

Again: The EC was specifically designed to be distinct from the vote. So calling something distinct from the voter the will of the voter is nonsensical.

If it were actually "on the voters", there would be no electoral college. Again: The EC is DISTINCT from the vote. Otherwise we wouldn't get a POTUS in office who lost the vote to the order of millions.

no you can't win back jimmy, but typically midland folk are middle of the road and can move enough of them. wisconsin and michigan should be EASY pickups for most democratic candidates, but ohio and pennsylvania wouldn't be that hard. i said it from the start i said it from the very begining, only person clinton loses to is trump, only person trump loses to is bernie. bernie is not warren though, she's got a lot of baggage, so don't conflate them. but i think a biden-sanders, or even sanders-biden ticket, would destroy trump like obama over mccain, mainly because it can talk to a lot of the same people that trump won over, plus other types to build up the coalition. trump's base is not actually really traditional GOP but traditional democrats, and they can win em back. best way to do that is put some white dudes up there that talk about white people problems
