If humans paying other humans can change natural processes, aka global warming. why don't we simply buy our way out of tornado's, floods, earthquakes. blizzards, volcanic eruptions, and so on ? We can't even buy our way out of it raining on our parades. Its a scam for the gullible. However, since we do live on a finite planet, its best to keep the cage clean as possible.

climate is not the same as weather. i think this fundamental and at this point willfully intentional conflation of different concepts is at the crux of the problem as why people don't understand what is going on

It doesn't help that it's counterintuitive as well. Climate change as we're experiencing it is simply a matter of retaining more energy in the system, and the various effects that can have. It can make winters more severe, tropical storm seasons longer. It can drop temperatures in entire regions and parch others. So every dumbshit out there going "lol global warming, right y'all?" every time it snows is probably making a mockery of himself twice over.
