Also, Warren as President is a huge waste. Stick her in charge of a bunch of committees and let her work. She is pure ops. Let Sanders take the heat of the Presidency, and let her work her magic in the Senate.

I think Warren could kick ass in the executive branch. But she has fundamentally bad political instincts and the areas that would make her awesome are pretty narrow (being a regulatory wiz and coming up with the best policies to bring some sanity to our finance sector) for her to be POTUS. Sanders has fundamentally good political skills (despite lacking polish, his appeal continues to defy expectations) and has a much more holistic sense of class struggle and fighting economic injustice. If Sanders dropped out or dropped dead tomorrow, I would support Warren because she’s easily better than any candidate not named Bernie sanders. But she’d do the most good focusing on her wheelhouse as a cabinet member in a Sanders admin.

i said it in 2016 and it's shaping up like i'll have to say it again, any republican except for trump can beat bernie, because bernie is a populist like trump. they are both mad protectionists raving about elites. he's long been called a populist, and it was his unexpected win in michigan that crystallized for me that trump would beat hillary

Have to agree about Warren. She's just too deeply flawed, and plays poorly. Like Clinton, her Achilles tendon is exposed for all to see, is widely known, and even someone as dense as trump can't help but slice at it. Biden too, even with the power of the party behind him (Sanders is a Democrat the same way trump is a Republican), is already being actively swiftboated via his huggy-handsiness, and reeks of Obama...the GOP/trailer parks' Satan figure. As I correctly pointed out last time, Sanders doesn't have the clout within the DNC that an actual lifelong player like Clinton or Biden has...which is what did for him.

Again, just like last time, my stance is Sanders in the primaries, and then whoever winds up with the nomination. If that is by some miracle Sanders, awesome. But if (probably) not...the removal of trump remains the national priority for any red-blooded American. I hope the die-hard Bernie boys have realized after their f**k last time that they still need to vote in favor of their country, even if they don't get their first choice. If ever there was a situation where someone like Sanders could actually get elected, against the will of the DNC and those tens of millions of voters who still think the word "socialist" equates to Stalin himself, this is it.

What is really interesting to me is how effective the Centrist Failures are when it comes to Machiavellian politics within their own party, but how poor they are at it against their actual opponents.

In this instance, every milquetoast Centrist who has ever even dreamed of being President is throwing their hat into the race. They understand they have no chance and no support. But simply by expanding the field, they make Biden's chances all the greater, and they are able to funnel fundraising money to other Centrists campaigns, who in turn will funnel it into Biden's campaign as they drop out.

They understand that most are going to fall in line behind the party favourite, once the nomination is over. But they also understand the progressive branch is undergoing an upward tick. So they are now quite deliberately creating a situation where the alternative vote gets split among twenty different candidates, who can say whatever they want to curry favour because they know they will end up losing and none of it will matter.

It is honestly a really brilliant play, I just wish that kind of focus and vicious self-interest could be used against the GOP, instead of progressive Democrats.
