China's impact on US corporations

corporations are trying to make money, and in doing so, they repeatedly placate dictatorships -- namely china -- in order to sell their product there. this ends up with corporations, such as those who run hollywood, to do things that are not anti-chinese

the Houston Rockets have had businesses suspend ties with them because the GM expressed support for Hong Kongers. if the NBA had a shed of decency they would tweet the image of Tank Man standing against Chinese oppression. But they won't. no, they ended up saying that the GM's views aren't the NBA's. politicans from left and right condemned them, but they don't give a shit, they just care about $$$$

how do we combat this? i think the only way to do it would be to forbid american companies from doing business with countries that suppress free speech. short term the consequences for american companies would be pretty dire and so no one would do it, but long term? long term i think it would be stronger than ever and would do more towards helping chinese citizens become free

all of south park has now been scrubbed from chinese internet after the most recent episode lampooning people for this very thing. can't even mention it anymore (obviously they wouldn't have episodes)

f**k em i don't care if they rally around nationalism. they can be all nationalistic and whatever but we need to isolate them. they are literally putting people into concentration camps and harvesting their organs, just in case you didn't realize their aims to have all han chinese people as "their citizens" under their protection didn't make you think enough about how they are LARPing as Germany circa 1939. they flip out if anyone says anything that dare upsets them.
