Spider, how do your posts actually become more inane over the years? Kane is often wrong, but does seem to learn, abit slowly. Dylan is almost always wrong about anything he opines on, but he has some edge to him and can be amusing, despite his obvious moral, philosophical and social failings. You, on the other hand, seem to have formed a posting archetype that takes all of these other posts negative qualities, and puts them into one aggravating, tedious individual. In the last five years, while not posting as often, you have not made a single post with any redeeming qualities. It is actually hard to do that - spacemonkey (RIP) has a higher quality post rate than you do!
How does one learn responsible financial decision-making when one is raised having no money, when ones parents pass on poor financial habits, and when schools absolutely do not teach these things? How can one get ahead when lending rates are drastically higher when doing financially prudent things, like starting a business, due to the corps giving you a poor credit rating? How can one get ahead when the requirements to do so - a post-secondary education - require borrowing and paying back obscene amounts of money, often in an economy that crashes like clockwork every ten years? What role does poverty have in the quality of education one receives under a school system that is funded largely by property tax? Where are people supposed to live, if not trailers? What role does individual decisions make in an economy where economic and intergenerational mobility is at all time lows?
I mean, it's so f**k banal, so f**k stupid, to point out that poor people make bad spending decisions. Of course they do! The question is why? And if the solution requires the average person to perform at above-average levels, how can one possibly say the problem isn't systemic, but instead individual?
Your entire post, even if we take everything you say at face value and pretend it is even remotely intelligent, simply advises poor people to solve the problem. Don't be poor - don't spend your money! You too can work a minimum wage job and then buy a house with the money in your 0.04% dividend savings account! Skip the cigs and beer! Skip the truck - use the nonexistent public transit. Skip the trailer - who needs a mailing address? Just get an apartment, those are cheap nowadays.
Look, at this point, we need to seriously consider shutting this place down. There are a handful of people left, and half of them are, to be perfectly frank, retarded. We can't even have a sensible discussion about the origins of black poverty without these goddamn morons blathering on about how white people have it tough too. My god Americans are the most annoying people on the planet.
