georgia's governor voiding of local mask ordinances... i don't know if it's even legal tbh but even if it is, i feel like this is at criminal levels of negligence and depraved indifference. the governor is telling people that they should all wear masks so there can be football this fall, but he refuses to institute an order and then voids all local ordinances mandating masks. it's insane.

Our governor instituted a mandatory face mask requirement yesterday, covers all counties with 4 active cases. Don't have to wear them outside in groups of 50 or less. I'm unsure of how it will affect restaurants... not that I'm setting foot inside a restaurant.

i'm generally not worried about it outside (trump was correct when he said sunlight kills the virus, but he didn't seem to understand how bodies work), although i still don't want to hang around people at restaurants even if it's outside dining; it kills it within 10 minutes or so, but sitting near the same people is different than walking near them outside

Yep. This is the point at which the exponential growth really starts to show itself.

This is an unmitigated disaster. The way this has been handled may not make us a failed state but it sure as f**k feels like one. And still the GOP sits by - sometimes still doing stupid shit like in Florida or now Georgia.

It is amazing to me that Disney World is open right now.

Does anybody else go into work these days and struggle with focusing on anything because you can't believe how stupid and ineffectual our government is right now? Or how unreal all of this feels?

It's frankly very creepy how little people are rallying against this administration as it poses with products from GOYA while US citizens f**k die from a pandemic.
