yeah but after the last time the germans were run by fascists they got a better government made for them by americans, why can't that happen now? i do think our institutions are so battered that they will not survive another assault, if either the gop clings to power or they are left to fester and come back. institutional reforms are needed.
i will say these are short term stop gap measures and that's fine, but dems need more long term thinking
