depending on the polls, we're looking at only 5% of the american population that is not upset about what happened. i think as more and more comes out about this, people are becoming aware of what this was intending. a week ago, "support" for the "protest" was at 45% of republicans. today, it is at 18%. https://thehill.com/homenews/news/53345 ... itol-riots they are heavily divided about trump, but as more and more comes out -- including the aiding and abetting in insurrection by Republican members of congress -- the anger will only grow, including by Republicans who don't want to be labeled "terrorists"
i agree with saz. McConnell is going to want to get everyone he can behind this to eject trump from the public discourse. he's already been neutered from social media. what can he really do? go hold rallies to try and get his conviction expunged so he can run again? he can't stand for office if he's convicted. it's a f**k godsend to the republicans that this is all happening. can you imagine years of them having to deal with the fallout from all of this WHILE STILL having him as the head of the GOP? he already pulled off what no republican president has done since 1892: lose the house, senate, and presidency in 4 years. he's been a complete disaster for the GOP even if it helped short term (and only because the dems put such an awful candidate against him). THAT SAID it's also a godsend to the american people because ejecting the reactionary republicans would be the first step to reentering civilized society. but all of the seditionists must be purged, starting with Person #1
