Joe Manchin is inching towards effectively removing the filibuster - in light of the GOP's actions over the past four years and the small amount of time the Dems have (potentially until 2022) they should do this. Give the Dems the power to pass legislation that we all know the GOP will obstruct regardless. GOP wants to continue to curry favor with Trump? Support the notions that the election was fraudulent? Not hold him to account outside of a few GOP legislators now being targeted by him?

f**k 'em. Call it what you want Joe - just get it done. It's about time the US sees what real governance looks like. It might even win some elections if it's done right...

It's a stupid f**k rule anyways. Who cares? The Constitution already lays out when a two-thirds is required, and it shouldn't be for something as inane as raising the federal minimum wage, or introducing basic voting rights legislation.

They just passed the recovery bill that has wide ranging support. Pass minimum wage increases that have wide ranging support as well. Do whatever you can that will positively affect voter's lives and that you can say the GOP was on the other side of. Get them to vote on it. Infrastructure should be next after this.

Getting all angsty over the debt/deficit/and inflation now? Go kick rocks. GOP had two years of total control and all anybody got out of it was a bill that was so unpopular that they couldn't run on it in the midterms.

Actually I don't think so anymore - Biden is pressing on with his agenda and he's not letting the GOP hold it back. If they get either the infrastructure bill or the minimum wage increase through that will be a boon to his presidency - if they get both that could be a boon to the party. You can run on that and say why didn't the GOP do this under Trump when they held all of the cards? Instead they passed that stupid tax cut bill.

Alternatively - I think the woke shit from the progressives is too much. Needs to slow down and shouldn't be the primary focus - walk and chew bubble gum but get the big lifts done and then focus on the social issues - this addresses complaints that the Dems don't care about red 'merica. Gotta win those weird Obama/Trump voters.
