Saz, I don't know how to tell you this, but nobody outside the US views this as a humiliation. That ship has already sailed, a long, long time ago. The basic premise of your humiliation argument is that there was still some respect towards and perceived dignity of America before Afghanistan fell to the Taliban. That simply is not the case. It hasn't been the case since at least 2016, and probably much longer. Iraq was basically the end dude, Trump was just four years of rubbing salt in the wound and making sure it would never close. You're an economic and military super power that has essentially no respect from or for anyone. Your country stands for absolutely nothing on the international scene. You aren't a steward of freedom, you aren't the city on the hill or whatever bullshit you think. You're just a brutal power doing brutal things who is acting in your own self-interest at all times. Abandoning people who have helped you is par for the course.
