The 7" Tablet market is getting crowded.

well it's a slightly larger screen with lower resolution than kinde fire or nexus 7. im sure it looks alright though, but for the much higher pricepoint, you'd think you'd get something with better specs, display included, not lower specs

so basically it just makes more of an old-school like display (in terms of dimensions) and if that is more important than anything else like tech specs or price, go for it

Idk why they have lower pixels, I think it's dumb, but if there is anything I've learned about displays,it's to see the display in person and judge that way, not just buy pixels or refresh rate.

High res is really, really, nice though. Its why I bought the new ipad. It really is a fantastic display. I wasn't on board until I saw one in person.

IMO, its the most important component. Pixel density translates into crispness and clear contrast on edges and lines. Now that IPS is starting to leak into the mainstream, things are going to be getting sweet. I've seen the Kindle HD's in person, and they are very nice. Would have to get one of these side by side to judge, but I already know that having a little bit more of a ragged edge on text is a turnoff. Its one of those things where its hard to go back.

I think I'll stick to B&N with the Nook HD.

I'm rooting for B&N. I know that eventually they are going to get a knife in the heart by way of Amazon or Apple or both.

Its going to suck when there aren't any bookstores left.
