What scares me is the legal ramifications of licensing as opposed to ownership. People with vast Kindle libraries may think they own their books...but they don't. All media is going to go down this path, and I worry about consumer rights.

Googling around a bit it sounds like I may be out of date on the video games thing. Now the rumor mill sounds like the next xbox at least will use blu ray. (which will make sony happy.) Apparently MS and Sony kicked the idea around and decided the blowback would be too intense.

the basic "problem" is "exclusivity" of retailers in the us, jacking up prices on imported goods while overseas they are lowered priced. someone could buy it overseas then resell it here making it "unfair" for those "exclusive retailers" or whatever

dont know but if the product can be bought overseas, imported by a person shipping it via UPS or something, and sold for a profit in the us, i would imagine for those products it is
