I didn't claim to be the inventor of this tactic, just pointing out that this tactic exist.
In fact false signals have been used since before there were radars when chariots would drag rakes behind them to kick up more dust and create the illusion that there is a bigger army behind them.

Sigmund Freud defined four parts of a psyche; the id, the ego, the superego and the stratego. The Stratego being the highest form of morality and scientific thinking.
If guns are not outlawed, the in-laws will have guns.
