Yea, and how exactly is a conservative supposed to win in these liberals eyes?
If he sticks to his conservative roots, they say he is failing at "evolving with the times and will cease to be a relevant party". If he changes and panders to people for votes, he is a called a flip flopper.
So tell me libs, what exactly should a conservative do with regards to this issue, that you would say was correct?

He should stick to his conservative roots. There is nothing wrong with conservatism.
He shouldn't stick with social conservatism, which isn't "roots" at all, but a relatively recent development. Social conservatism is beneath the contempt of old school Republicans. They are a dying breed.
Abandoning social conservatism as the central pillar of what is being termed "conservatism" is the very best way to get back to the roots of the party.
