They are using their giant goddess statue to shove their belief in the pursuit of life, liberty, and happiness down our throats.

Not too sure if it's on private or public land. But I'm pretty sure the government give it some sort of protected status. I don't actually think it's a monstrosity, it is quite impressive. But it could just be a big statue of anyone overlooking the city and I'd probably still find it impressive.
