I have a serious problem with people who operate within a capitalist society on a daily basis, and especially those who proclaim that they appreciate good business... but stop short of truly admitting what Apple has accomplished in the market, just because they're so successful that pretty much the only analogy possible is cheat codes to a video game. They've reduced free-market capitalism to a rusted slab-side citroen. They simultaneously make products with superior build quality, front-run all customer service surveys, and simultaneously are able to do enough towards Green initiatives and overseas workplace conditions to handle their PR.


There is no mega corp in the post-Reagan era that can say that besides Toyota.

Not only that, wait for this holiday season. They're going to introduce a REALLY low-cost iPad that's going to wipe out Android tablets and the Kindle Fire.

Having owned an Android tablet--and it was great--if you can afford the iPad, you're going to get it. And because the only reason I bought the Android was that it was $300 less than the iPad, now that that barrier is gone, look out.

I agree, from a marketing/new product perspective, Apple is awe-inspiring. Let's see how long they run, though, because Microsoft was top dog for a decade and now here they are.

Plus, these guys effectively slaughtered the Blackberry with the iPhone--it really wasn't that long ago that the BB was THE phone to have.

Just curious (Since we like to attack the wealthy for not paying taxes, aka, Romney). How much does Apple pay in taxes? How much of their profits do they contribute to charity?
