It was once so notorious for its crime statistics that any story about New York City invariably carried the equivalent of a government health warning, but on Monday, NYC went 24 hours without a single report of a person being shot, stabbed or subjected to other sorts of violent crime.
crime experts could not recall such an event occurring before.
Tom Repetto, author of American Police 1949-2012, said: ‘In a city of 8million people, this is extremely rare.’

Pretty weird to have not a single reported incident of a violent crime in such a large city. Maybe there was some kind of unconscious collective psychology going on.
