which US is nowhere near. US could accomodate 1 billion people by 2050 with minimal strain.

What is the point of excessive population? Hell, we already think there is to many deadbeats now, I suppose they could be used as cannon fodder in future wars. Without changing the size of your living room, do you want 3-4 or 300-400 people in it?
