I think people confuse "removal of rights through due process" as regulation. I'm absolutely fine with the right to own a gun being removed upon conviction of any kind of violent crime or any serious crime committed while in possession of a firearm. I'm also fine with removal of gun rights during institutionalization for certain mental illnesses where you may be a danger to yourself or others. That's pretty much the extent.
