In the "fire" analogy, due process isn't the reason for rights not being absolute. No due process is needed to take away your right to yell "FIRE" in a crowded theater. That "right" is not protected because it's a threat to public safety. Implementing gun control on a broad level, not through due process for each person impacted, could be argued for as well.
