Mathurin, I don't see why your friend needs saving. He's an immature underachieving dimwit, who acts irresponsibly but just barely manages to scrape by. Given a little time, he will become a mature underachieving dimwit, who acts somewhat responsibly and manages to scrape by with a little bit more confidence.
That's about as good as it's going to get for certain types of people.
