two men and two women cannot have a baby on accident. marriage is there to form a tight legal bond that it is difficult to escape from if a baby does come of it, thus benefiting the state. i don't see any compelling reason other than that why the government is involved at all

In any event, that's not a reason to exclude gay people since you can lock in accidentally preggers couples and still allow gay marriage.

So sterile couples cannot marry? Fertile couples who choose not to have children should have their marriages annulled? I really think this is eventually going to boil down to "but gay is ick!" and that's simply not a good enough reason to ban gay marriage. Bigots can be bigots if they want, but the law of the land must not reflect their bigotry.

Good find, but if there's a challenge on constitutional grounds I don't see OSHA regulation overriding that.

From a societal perspective the most reasonable solution is to have at least one single-person gender-neutral restroom at any place with public facilities. Not sure if we'd legally require that over this issue.
