That's what I was saying: why not extend the deduction for paying rent?
In fact I think it should be something like this:
- Covers all rent up to $X,XXX/month.
- Covers first-time mortgages.
This clearly isn't the time to abolish the deduction. The real estate market is still shaky as hell and we're trying to push forward the recovery, not create more variables.
