no, i get pestered by charities ive given to in the past, even when i specifically request not to be, which annoys me to the point of never giving again. i get enough junk mail and i hate beggars

i donated my car and they're asking me for more cars? go to hell

Once my parents ordered some return address labels for me for christmas because I had once whined about writing a return address on the envelopes my bills came with, back before web based payment because so obvious.

I then got several sets of similar labels from a tuberculosis charity of some kind, along with a letter begging for money


Much like Galt, junk mail is more likely to drive me away from something than towards it.

Make a wish or conservation efforts are really good

I have never been a big fan of make a wish, call me overly utilitarian but it feels like a waste of resources that could be used helping those with a longer future

Meh, all depends on how you view charity, and what you want to get out of it. Sometimes simple kindness can be the ultimate charity, sometimes it is helping people help themselves. All of it has validity, and all of it is important.
