problem is it will probably take a year just to implement the changes.
i don't see the issue with doing both, honestly. the wealthy are hoarding cash. they are no longer job creators. take that money and put it into the state. at the same time, close loopholes, limit deductions, lower rates for everyone else slightly, alter entitlements a bit for those not already collecting. cut defense spending on a timeline.
i think that's a pretty fair starting point. even some in the progressive caucus have said they're willing to look at entitlement reform so long as it doesn't result in a decrease in benefits for current collectors.
