That scenario is entirely possible. But earlier you stated that this was a PR stunt. Consideration of politics in deciding whether or no to pursue a legitimate investigation does not render the investigation a PR stunt.
What is your point in stating that all banks are corrupt?
Earlier you stated that negligence can be conjured up by regulators "with a quota," implying that HSbC was clean as a whistle. Are you retreating from this? You also stated that
"Its that some of them are realistically too big to not get fooled several times a year, sometimes in big ways by organised crime," again implying they are free from any intentional wrongs. Are we now retreating from this as well?
I don't care that you are impugning obamas motives. You made the point that this is a PR stunt thus political motives are a necessary factor in the discussion. You can't assert that this is a product of political motives and then accuse me of partisanship when I point out the substantial evidence suggesting this is a product of more than political motivation. That is just dumb. And in any event I donated to Romney and voted for nobody. Stop making an ass of yourself.
