49% of Republicans Blame Election Loss On ACORN

Sure it does. It's ties in to the same idea that these people just don't get it--that there was no nefarious plot afoot to rob them of their deserved victory. They lost because the country is leaving them behind. And rightly so. They can believe it was ACORN (i.e., black people) or buy into the latest gov't conspiracy plot (to take your guns and freedoms)... and in doing so keep deluding themselves.

And it's that kind of delusion that has run the party into the ground and produced candidates like Romney.

To all these people out there thinking ACORN got Obama elected, here's a reality check: no, you did. You did because your political beliefs are nothing more than a way to vent your irrational hatreds and fears and couch them with legitimacy by disguising them as political (that failed), and you did so because you nominated Romney, who was the least clownish of a primary slew of embarrassingly clownish candidates.

Like I've said over and over again in this thread, it is incredibly easy to make fun of the GOP. Formulating a contortedly worded and dishonest poll isn't necessary. I will not defend Republicans, but I will defend intellectual integrity. This poll lacked it.

Personally, I hope the GOP falls to irrelevancy. Conservatism is just a bad ideology. Unfortunately, I don't think there is a strong enough movement to counter the big government/nanny state/socialist crowd.
