First of all, I'm not a liberal. I'm a socialist and I haven't taken anything you've posted as a personal attack. Second of all, gun related violence in the United States (it's completely off of the spectrum in comparison to other 1st world industrialized nations) is one of the largest issues there is.



Your shrill "argument" that "social progressives" will lose the next decade because of gun control laws is laughable because as the last two presidential elections proved, the nation is majority liberal on most issues. A majority poll in favor of stricter gun control laws. Old white conservative men and their guns are just going to have to deal with it.

I am so goddamn sick and tired of this ignorant trumpeting of the 2nd amendment. It's an anachronism. It defends the right to bear arms within the explicit context of the right to form a militia at a time in history when people rode horses and fired muskets. Get with the program.

America has an obvious gun violence problem.

There seems to be very strong correlation between access to guns and gun violence.

I think it's appropriate to talk about changing how we deal with guns. And while we're at out, how we deal with those with mental illnesses. Because as a society, we aren't doing so well on these accounts.
