The tide is turning because people are tired of seeing these massacres. What happened in Norway last year was so shocking because that kind of thing doesn't happen there, whereas here it's becoming a regular occurrence.
Other things we should be looking at is mental health--it seems that was a factor here, it clearly was with Aurora and the guy who shot Gabby Giffords.
What you don't want to do is start passing feelgood legislation in haste because you think you're doing "something."
