Labeling something isn't super effective argumentation. But sure, label me un-American. No sweat off my back.

And arguably this would be entirely consistent with some version of the Second Amendment. Part of the rationale was because they lacked a standing army and this a "well-regulated militia" was needed to defend from foreign threats, as well as domestic threats such as tyranny. Thus at least 1/2 of the justification if the second amendment has been removed, as we now have a rather impressive standing army.

There is of course the justification of preventing tyranny, which still remains, and is a decent argument. That's a chance I'm willing to take though given theme chance of armed revolt and the direct, immediate, present danger posed by the incredible number of guns in this nation.

As John Galt says, ranges aren't staffed and that will merely be the new supply depot for people that don't mind breaking into the range, where it's isolated.

I think they tried something like this in a Scandinavian country, Denmark or finland I think it was but it was gun storage. The Hell's angels just took their guns from there.

It's just another bad idea that punishes the law abiding and no one else: i.e., the people you want to stop.

Don't keep ammo there. It won't be long before the ammo is being sold out the back door.

There's so much reloading gear out there that all you will accomplish is a huge black market for ammo.

In toronto, a bullet on the street costs $20. Renting a gun costs $1000 according to the cops.

Its practical. Expensive but practical.

A black market may indeed expand. But if ammo and guns are in very short supply this market will remain limited.

Another great idea of mine is finding a way to mark each firearm sold such that it can be traced back to the original purchaser. If said weapon is used in a crime, the original purchaser is charged as an accessory to said crime unless they reported the guns theft and police find that reasonable means had been taken to prevent said theft.
