Gun regulation does not imply gun bans. In many other countries the litmus test for driving is much harsher. You have to periodically renew your license and show competence in driving a stick in crowded city streets.
Guns should be treated the same way: a potentially dangerous weapon where any misuse puts you in the crapper - including not showing how you plan to lock it up and keep it away from live ammunition at the very least.
The facts don't lie. Who are committing these mass-killing offenses? In almost all situations, it's people who either purchased a weapon legally or stole them from a relative.
