We've discussed this before, and it was clearly demonstrated that the US military couldn't actually subdue the whole country. The biggest advantages, such as navy and air force, are at a huge strategic disadvantage.
With most of the population being urbanized, it'll be impossible to not cause huge casualties, or blue on blue incidents. Infrastructure will crumble, stores of supplies will be disrupted. And you have to actually turn the military against the US people. Not an easy task.
The US military is under 5 million. Let's say they go against 1/6th of the population. Reasonable right? If this is a serious revolution.
That's still 50 million people. Hell, even if it was 20 million there's just no way for the US military to fight that at home.
I don't think you guys realize how reliant we are on military contractors either.
